Frequently Asked Questions about Toenail Fungus Services

Toenail fungus infections can be a cause for embarrassment and can affect one’s quality of life. At Precision Laser Skin Care, we have listed answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive about toenail fungus treatments to help you make an informed decision. Should you choose to seek our services and rid your toenail fungus for good, call us at our Toronto or London clinic today.

Q: How long will the toenail fungus treatment take?

A: Each visit to Precision Laser™ Tattoo Removal in Toronto will take between 30 and 60 minutes. We offer packages of three treatments, each one roughly three months apart.

Q: I only have fungus on one toe. Why should I treat all my toes?

A: The recommended protocol to effectively eradicate toenail fungus is to treat all 10 toes because the fungus can easily spread from toe to toe. Because it’s not always visible to the naked eye, if we only treated the visibly infected toe, fungus could spread back again from the other toes or start to manifest in other toes.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Not really. There might be some occasional “hot spots” where the laser is treating, but the sensation passes almost immediately. Our staff is professional, and we make it our goal to keep you as comfortable as possible during treatments.

Q: What do I need to do to prepare for my treatment?

A: You should remove any nail polish or nail decorations prior to your visit for treatment. Nails should also be trimmed as best as possible prior to coming in.

Q: Is there any downtime after treatment?

A: No, you should be able to resume normal activities as soon as you leave our clinic.

Q: What are the risks associated with this treatment?

A: The risks of this treatment are few to none. We do a health assessment prior to treatment to ensure our clients are safe to be treated.

Q: Can the fungus come back?

A: It can through reinfection. However, we provide assistance and directions on steps to take to avoid reinfection (proper shoe care, sock care, etc.). You won’t need to throw out all your shoes, but you will need to treat them. With proper care, reinfection is unlikely. Precision Laser offers Gehwol® products which are specifically designed to prevent reinfection. We highly recommend using them as part of the treatment process.

Q: How soon can I apply nail polish?

A: Right after treatment, if you like!

Q: Are your rates guaranteed?

A: Yes! We know there is no better technology for toenail fungus treatment, so we will match any competitor using the PinPointe™ laser and beat it by 5%. We already know our prices are the best around in the Toronto and London areas.
